Architecture, Building and Structure Design Gateway to Lofoten Appartments by Manuela Hardy The design of the appartements located in Roest, Lofoten, is inspired by traditional fishing houses, as the place has a long history with cod and stockfish. The local and also traditional building customs are being found in its form and use of materials, but there is a futuristic twist to the design. It is a merge of tradition and modern design. The gabled roofs are mirrored on the lower part of the building, hanging outside the foundation wall.
