Architecture, Building and Structure Design Baan Nong Bua School by Jun Sekino Baan Nong Bua school was one of the victim of a 2014 severe earthquake in Chaing Rai,Thailand. The school is redesigned and reconstructed with an earthquake-resisted structure. With a structure made out of steel, the flexibility of the material and the skeleton frame help absorbing the earthquake vibration as well as accelerating the construction process. Furthermore, with a vernacular design, the school is designed to respond to the local factor including material and weather which turn the school to be a prototype of the other sufficient building across the country.
