Architecture, Building and Structure Design Wanda Jinan Basketball Ice Hockey Arena Basketball and Ice Hockey by Tengfei Chu The inspiration was drawn from nature, a jade lying in spring. “Every spring, Household willows” of her kind remarks about the springs are the soul of Jinan. The skin of the arena was curved horizontal louvers, which was a response to the running springs. The shape and streamlined facade shows the energy of sports activities. The curved facade eliminate the spatial pressure of the architecture on surroundings and suit the atmosphere of springs city and culture.
