Architecture, Building and Structure Design HOME ON THE RUINS Residential House by SUN CHIENYA This is an old house built in the late Qing Dynasty. It is located on Pingjiang Road, a historic preserve in Suzhou, China. The old house has completely become ruins. Its building area is only 96 square meters. The old houses have collapsed. The roof only has lonely beams, mottled old walls, wild plants and rubbish all over the place have accumulated to the height of half a person. Designers have incorporated modern elements into the Suzhou architectural style, and the old houses which were already ruins have become very characteristic, simple and fashionable dwellings.
