Suehiro Nagaya Residence

Architecture, Building and Structure Design Suehiro Nagaya Residence by Masaaki Takeuchi Osaka Nagaya has become aging and its number is decreasing due to development. As a result, the unique community cultivated through Nagaya culture become lost. In this project, they updated it as a living space, taking advantage of the features of Osaka Nagaya. Following are six specific key points: utilizing the yard, make it clear whether old material or newly-installed material is used for the finishing, reducing the size of the building to create deeper space under the eaves, keeping the water area compact, allowing for DIY and creating a manual on the method for seismic reinforcement.
